Videos

The videos below are examples of what I created during my time at FRA and consist of event recaps, interviews, performances, and news highlights. My small three-person team was responsible for setup, scheduling, content, sound, filming, and editing. We started out simply editing videos on iMovie then upgraded to Final Cut Pro and learned the ins and outs of sound quality, lighting, depth of field, and other camera settings along the way. While my experience only spans three years, I learned about the entire production process because I was involved in every step for each video.

Christmas Carpool Karaoke 2017

Our small three-person team, along with help from the broadcast journalism class, put this video together in the span of the two weeks between Thanksgiving and Christmas break. We were inspired by James Corden’s version with Mariah Carey and decided to replicate it with our faculty. We had to coordinate around everyone’s schedules and had strict time slots for each group to film. I decorated the back of the car and mounted a GoPro to the front window. Fun fact: I was crammed in the trunk every time to ensure consistent quality and monitor the sound.

Christmas Flash Mob 2018

Our faculty performed this flash mob during each division’s convocation one day. It required my team to be at each one to setup and film. We also choreographed the routine, taught it to the faculty, and setup rehearsal times for each division to practice the week before. The opening shows just the upper school faculty, then it cuts to scenes from the middle and lower schools. This was a difficult project because we had one chance to film each performance and technical issues during filming had to be resolved in the editing process. Overall, it was a big feat that came together, and the students were excited to be part of that year’s Christmas video.

Admission Acceptance Video 2019

This video went out to students accepted to FRA in 2019. It consists of B-roll from different events on campus and centers on the theme of belonging. For the speaking parts, we selected students who exemplified FRA’s values and were well spoken. We had to schedule a time to film each student in the intended environment then setup two cameras on tripods along with a shotgun mic and lights if needed.

SEW 2018

Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW) happens every spring at FRA and centers around a different theme each year. There are speakers and events throughout the week, and this video was a recap of the week in 2018.

Homecoming 2018

Again, another recap video for our audience complete with B-roll, drone footage, and photos to commemorate the day.

New Website Launch

This was the first video I created at FRA. We had just launched a completely updated website and wanted to promote it on our social media accounts. I created this in iMovie before upgrading to Final Cut Pro later that same year.
